Kathryn and Travis Wilson allege in a lawsuit that St. Joseph’s Hospital in Florida after the death of their baby
A couple from Tampa (Florida) accused a city hospital of having lost the body of their deceased newborn son and claimed compensation of more than $ 30,000 in damages, local media reported.
Kathryn and Travis Wilson allege in a lawsuit that St. Joseph’s Hospital negligently handled the body of their son Jacob, who died three days after he was born at that center, causing them "cruel" emotional stress.
Jacob was born on February 25 of this year and after his death from causes not specified in the lawsuit, his body was taken to the city of Orlando (Florida) for an autopsy.

The company hired for the transfer through the hospital brought Jacob’s body back to Tampa and the medical center informed the Wilsons on March 5, and after the call they began to prepare for their son’s funeral.
However, a few days later the hospital informed them that they had not been able to find the baby’s body.
For that reason the Wilsons sued the hospital and demanded monetary compensation.
The company that owns the hospital sent a statement reproduced by local media in which it states that it has made every effort to find Jacob’s body and expresses its solidarity with the parents for the loss of their son.
"We also deeply regret that we were not able to locate his remains. The management and staff of all St. Joseph’s morgues are determined that this unprecedented situation will not happen again."
In the lawsuit filed in Hillsborough County court, the Wilsons say they have suffered psychological and emotional trauma that has manifested in "physical pain, anguish and the loss of the ability to enjoy life" and qualify as "outrageous" and " intolerable in a civilized community "the conduct of the hospital.
