Marco Antonio Solís in Viña: "I consider myself a bit of a healer in music" he said in Viña del Mar
Marco Antonio Solís in Viña: "I consider myself a bit of a healer in music." The Mexican singer-songwriter Marco Antonio Solís affirmed when asked about the lyrics of his songs, which he described as "dramatic", in a press conference prior to his concert tomorrow at the Viña del Mar Festival.
"My songs have a dramatic touch that helps us to relax internally, to reflect, to heal ourselves in some way. There we suffer, we cry a little but it does us a lot of good", said the hit songwriter "If you hadn’t gone". In this sense, Solís stated that “Latin America suffers from so many things that music is a balm” and that is why it is more necessary than ever.
The singer-songwriter said that the concert that was held "for the freedom of Venezuela", last Saturday, serves as "help."
Solís, Raphael and the presenters of the Viña del Mar Festival, the most important in Latin America, are some of the artists who have so far expressed their support for the Venezuelan people.
The singer-songwriter claimed the power of music that "heals" and also referred to the need for "more lively" music that "the reggaeton companions" make.
Solís, who is performing for the sixth time at this festival, announced that this Wednesday he will take the stage of Quinta Vergara, which houses the event, with 16 musicians who will accompany him on his new songs such as “Gracias por Ven” (2014) or "For the love of Morelia" (2015) but also in the "most classic".
He also stated that he will sing a song with two of his daughters, who are starting their career in music.
“My daughters are convinced of what they do and one of them composes. Their style is different from mine but I don’t impose anything on them: not my way of doing or recording ”, he explained.
