Prince Harry’s wife starts the year with new responsibilities, Kensington Palace reported
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle , wife of Prince Harry, on Thursday assumed the sponsorship of four organizations , including the National Theater, which reflect her areas of interest, Kensington Palace reported.
In addition to the National Theater, Meghan Markle will support as a member of the royal family the Association of Universities of the British Commonwealth of Nations (ex-colonies); Smart Works, which helps vulnerable women enter the job market, and Mayhew, an organization dedicated to animal welfare, added the palace, the official residence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex .
"The Duchess is delighted to sponsor national organizations that are part of the UK fabric and wants to work with them to bring public attention to these causes," added the note released today. According to the palace, the Duchess "feels that you can use your position "to help these organizations.

Through his Twitter account, Smart Works said that the charity feels "honored" to have the support of Meghan Markle and "reflects his passion for helping women." For his part, the General Secretary of the Association of Universities of the British Commonwealth of Nations, Joanna Newman, stated that the Duchess "shares our passion for the transformative power of higher education".
These sponsorships are the first the Duchess has received since she married Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson in May 2018.
