Men’s concern about the state of their buttocks has gone from occasional to habitual
The ideals and stereotypes of beauty also reach men, who also, like women, face a stark reality: age, lack of exercise, a diet low in protein or sudden weight loss, are the causes of flaccidity. buttocks, according to the beautician Carmen Navarro, but warns that they are reversible aspects.
In the case of men, some time ago the concern about the condition of their buttocks was occasional, but today it is becoming common, according to Esther Pérez, a commercial advisor of the Instimed medical-aesthetic centers, who indicates that they are those who maintain a certain "cult of the body" those most prone to treatments to beautify it.
In the case of men, the options to improve the appearance of the buttocks are concentrated in two techniques: the inclusion of prostheses or fat transfer, identical to those used in the case of women.
"The treatment and surgery is the same in both cases, although the prostheses that are implanted in men are anatomical, more natural, because in the case of women they are more rounded and the intention is that the final result does not draw a feminine shape ", Explain.
Pérez indicates that after years of research they have opted for a Brazilian prosthetic implant technique with an aesthetically discreet result.
“It is what matters most to men. In the case of men there is no tendency to excess, they want the result to be as natural as possible ”, he comments.
It details that the intervention is performed through a four-centimeter incision in one of the natural grooves of the coccyx, through which the prosthesis is placed intramuscularly, "within the gluteus maximus muscle."
In this way, says Pérez, it is possible to avoid lumps or steps and to leave a completely natural appearance.
However, for those who discard the idea of wearing a prosthesis, fat transfer is an "equally effective" treatment, which takes advantage of the body’s natural fat.
The buttock implant is not performed in an isolated way, "there is always a contour reshaping", warns the advisor, which means that liposupction is also usually performed.
In this case, fat is obtained by this system from other areas of the body and injected subcutaneously.
"Fat is mixed with growth factors, which makes it last and prevents subsequent retouching," concludes Pérez.
Dra. Almudena Royo, head of the Body Aesthetic Medicine Unit at Instituto Médico Lásica, comments that the treatment that men most frequently demand in her clinic is hair removal in general, increasingly including the gluteal, intergluteal and perianal areas .
While he comments that the most frequent consultations they receive in the body area have to do with how to improve the abdominal area and the flanks, due to the predisposition to accumulate lipodystrophic fat in those areas, difficult to treat only with exercise and diet.
