To form independent children, your supervision must always be present, because contrary to what some parents do, it is not to leave them alone to the good of God to solve their things, do not be confused!
Many parents want to teach their children to be independent, however, some want to do it for the good and others just for tomorrow, that’s right, since as you well know, not everyone has the wood to be parents, and what is it? What do they do? leave the boy to the girl alone to do her things, all under the pretext that she should already be learning so that she can be independent, will it be?
Children generally begin to be independent between four and six years of age, since at this stage is when they learn to form true friendships and also learn the most difficult rules of games, they even develop life skills that are very important for their future, so as you can see, everything has its moment, and it is not good to push them more than necessary.
Although it is true, it is not good to help children in everything, because then we would be creating an opposite effect, since they will end up getting used to mom or dad always intervening for him, that is why we must learn that the key to Life is balance, it is letting go, but not too much.
If we want to help a child to be independent, let’s not do things at our convenience to encourage laziness ourselves, because independence is not achieved by stopping helping him, we must intervene and be the guide, but giving him freedom that he can also do your thing on your own until you get to a point where you ask us to let you act alone.
On the other hand, children must be allowed to explore the world from a young age, although for this they must have the supervision of their parents, with this we will be helping them to be more autonomous, since their concern to discover a thousand things is infinite, and we should not inhibit them, especially when they are in the why stage.
It is also good to promote critical thinking in them, and how do we achieve this? allowing them to make their own decisions, that although it is mostly us as adults who do it, we must also allow them to be the ones who have the last word in certain matters, this will make them feel very important and that their word has value.
Finally, you have to teach them to do things with great patience and respect and then gradually leave them alone; Likewise, you have to allow them to help you with those tasks that are simple at home, since since they were little they have the good will to do it, and you have to take advantage of that to promote their independence, but remember, it is to teach and guide them until they gradually release them. a little bit, but your supervision should always be present.
